A great addition to life's greatest adventures is this thing we call marriage. I am lucky enough to have married my best friend, Ashley. We've had some very interesting life adventures together, including way too many visits to the doctors' offices. But, we're learning and growing together and trying to enjoy every minute of life (although it's easier said than done). Life is one great adventure and I'm glad I get to share it with my best friend. These are the most important of adventures - life, faith, and family. They may not be the most glamorous, and surely they are not the easiest. But in the end, they are the most rewarding, and adventure is about the reward.
When people speak of "adventure," they usually attribute the lure of adventure to excitement, experience, learning, challenge, and sometimes treasure. But these rewards aren't limited to adventurous expeditions like climbing Kilimanjaro, or discovering a new species in the Amazon, or following an ancient map to buried treasure. The rewards of excitement, knowledge, joy, challenge, and experience can come from everyday life, but only if we allow it. Life can be pure drudgery, but it can also be pure adventure if we just let it.
